Rolfing Muscle TherapyRolfing, also known as structural integration, aims to move the body back into alignment by manipulating the muscles and the tissues that connect them. Basic body structure can be altered by day-to-day activities -- anything from sitting at a desk all day to sleeping in the same position every night. Rolfing vigorously works the muscles and tissue by gradually stretching, lengthening and repositioning them to restore their normal length and flexibility. When proper alignment is achieved, the body is returned to its central axis, which translates to good posture and carriage. Rolfing practitioners often take "before" photographs to see the problems that need to be addressed, and "after" shots to gauge how effective the work has been. Next: Watsu
