Summary

Diet and nutrition are an important part of a woman’s ability to maintain good health. In recent years, researchers have found growing evidence of the link between healthy eating and a variety of positive health outcomes. These include reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and osteoporosis.

Women who are looking to improve their diet should eat foods that are rich in fiber, folate, unsaturated fats and calcium. For this reason, they should choose fruits, vegetables and whole grains while also reducing their intake of foods with a lot of sugar, salt, cholesterol, saturated fats and trans fats.

As a woman ages, her nutritional needs may vary. For this reason, it is important that she consult with her physician or other healthcare professionals to ensure that her diet is providing the proper nourishment required for good health.
